B.Sc Nursing

Description

The duration of B.Sc Nursing program under ACN is of four years, and the nursing course includes classroom learning and practical sessions. Facilities are provided to students for clinical experiences under the guidance of faculty in various clinical and community settings. The university exams are held annually.

Theory

All the subjects of the different courses have 25% for internal assessment and 75% for an annual university examination.

Nursing course students should have a minimum of 50% in internal assessment, and 80% theory attendance to be eligible for the examination.

Practical

All the courses have 50% for internal assessments and a final university exam for 50%.

Students with 80% clinical attendance and 50% total internal assessment marks are eligible for the final university exam. The student gets promoted to the next higher class only after completing 100% attendance in the practical B.S c Nursing subjects.

  • Understand the basic biological sciences and psychosocial aspects of health and illness and its use in care of patients.
  • Apply knowledge and critical thinking skills and ethical principles in evidence based nursing practice.
  • Prepare competent nursing professionals with human values to provide quality nursing care globally.
  • Practice comprehensive nursing care for individual, community and society at large.
  • Demonstrate values, knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate to the profession and also respect for the dignity of each individuals and for human diversity.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teaching skills in nursing education and practice.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and decision making abilities and managerial skills in providing quality nursing care in various health care settings.
  • Engage in continuous professional and personal development and update with latest technologies, trends and issues in health care setting.
